This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This is a private reference site. It cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear one, accept a bond payment, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. Each of those steps has to go through the issuing court or the sheriff's office.
Need Official Warrant Information?
A warrant question usually belongs to the court that handled the case, and case type decides which court that is. These are the routes for the questions people ask most often in Grand Traverse County:
- A district misdemeanor, traffic, or ordinance matter: call the 86th District Court at 231-922-4580, which holds the case file and the appearance record
- A bound-over felony: call the 13th Circuit Court at 231-922-4701, or the county clerk's circuit and family records office at 231-922-4710
- A support or family matter: call the Friend of the Court at 231-922-4660 or the Family Division at 231-922-4640
- Surrender, booking, or custody: call Corrections at 231-922-4532 during business hours or 231-922-4530 after hours
- Resolving an open warrant: speak with a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or bond
For district court records, the file-review counter sits in the Robert P. Griffin Hall of Justice at 280 Washington Street in Traverse City and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The county clerk's circuit and family records office is in the same building at Suite 206 and runs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For sheriff-held records, the records division is at the Sgt. Dennis W. Finch Law Enforcement Center, 851 Woodmere Avenue in Traverse City, reachable at 231-995-5000. Michigan's Freedom of Information Act is the route for an existing agency record, and the county handles FOIA requests through its official request page.
